Nvidia Corp., a US technology company, said on Tuesday that its cloud-based gaming service GeForce NOW was adopted for cars produced by the Hyundai Motor Group, BYD Co. a Chinese electric vehicle maker and Polestar, a Swedish automotive brand.

For Hyundai Motor, drivers of its luxury sedan Genesis are now able to stream GeForce NOW games from the cloud, while parking or charging their vehicle. Their backseat passengers can play the games while on board.

The cloud gaming service was officially launched in South Korea in 2020.

Hyundai has been in collaboration with Nvidia since 2020 to develop artificial intelligence-powered connected car technology.

Last year, Hyundai adopted the Nvidia Drive connected car platform for certain types of its vehicles. The platform runs on Hyundai's connected car operating system.

Ali Kani, in charge of Nvidia’s automotive chip development, said that it planned to increase the number of GeForce Now’s hit titles and dozens of its free games available in Hyundai’s electric vehicles.
