South Korea's display maker LG Display Co. announced on Monday that it has received the "Bosch Global Supplier Award" from Bosch, the world's top automotive parts company.

Since 1987, Bosch has been awarding this honor every two years to the top-performing suppliers among its 35,000 global partners in various fields. LG Display was selected as the first awardee in the newly established category for vehicle displays.

Bosch explained that the Korean company has demonstrated distinctive technological capabilities, stringent quality management and a stable supply capacity during their strategic collaboration of over ten years. It particularly praised LG Display's leadership in projects involving the integration of organic light-emitting diode (OLED) technology into the next-generation models of premium vehicles.

LG Display supplies vehicle displays used in digital clusters and other components to global automotive parts companies and complete car manufacturers.

"This recognition is a result of our efforts to provide differentiated customer value as the world's leading vehicle display supplier. We will continue to strengthen our competitiveness in securing new orders," said Kim Byung-gu, the head of LG Display's automotive business group.
