South Korea's Hyundai Mobis will participate in the Japan Mobility Show 2023, which changed its name from the Tokyo Motor Show.

This is the first time the company has taken part in an automotive event in Japan.

Hyundai Mobis will display strategic products, including electrification technologies, lamps, and in-vehicle infotainment systems (IVI) at the event in Tokyo from Oct. 26 to Nov. 5.

To maximize new business opportunities, Hyundai Mobis's display will center around a private booth, catering primarily to meetings with pre-invited customers. The company has scheduled discussions with officials from major Japanese car manufacturers, including Toyota, Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance, and Honda, exploring avenues for potential collaboration.

Historically, Hyundai Mobis has been a supplier of various products, like lamps, chassis, and IVI systems, to Japanese car manufacturers. The company expanded its Japan-centric team in the first half of the previous year, enlisting two industry veterans to enhance its sales and ordering processes in the country.

Starting with CES event in the US at the beginning of this year, Hyundai Mobis has been on a relentless drive to expand its overseas footprint.

Participation in global events, such as Germany's IAA, the Detroit Auto Show, and now the Japan Mobility Show, underscore this effort.

The company recently secured a major order from Volkswagen for electrification components, bolstering their chances of hitting their annual overseas order goal of $5.36 billion.
