Hyundai Motor Co. unveiled a teaser image of the interior of its first large electric SUV, the IONIQ 9, on Wednesday.

The IONIQ 9 is Hyundai’s third EV model built on the dedicated Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) and will expand Hyundai’s lineup of dedicated electric vehicles under the IONIQ brand.

The interior teaser image of the IONIQ 9 shows a spacious cabin with an “aerosthetic” silhouette—a term combining aerodynamics and aesthetics. The design incorporates various elliptical elements to create a comfortable and inviting atmosphere.

The IONIQ 9 offers a spacious interior that can accommodate up to seven people, thanks to its best-in-class wheelbase and the flat floor made possible by the E-GMP platform, which extends to a third row.

“The IONIQ 9 provides a lounge-like space centered around the customer, demonstrating a vision of how technology, design and comfort can harmoniously blend in mobility,” said Simon Loasby, Hyundai's Head of Style.

Hyundai plans to hold the IONIQ 9's world premiere in Los Angeles later this month, to be followed by a global campaign.
