Korea Housing Finance Corporation announced on Wednesday that it has opened a New York office to serve as a hub for its overseas fund procurement activities.

The New York office will play a role as a hub for funding support for policy mortgages, attracting overseas investors, and building collaborative systems with global investment institutions, particularly with those in the North American region.

"Through the opening of the New York office, we will strive to facilitate continuous investment in Housing Finance Corporation bonds and related activities in the North American region," said Lee Hwan-Seok, Vice President of the Housing Finance Corporation, during the opening ceremony held in Manhattan, New York.

Additionally, the vice president reportedly met with Sam Valverde, Principal Executive Vice President of the Government National Mortgage Association (Ginnie Mae), a US government corporation specializing in guaranteeing government-backed mortgages.

During the meeting, they discussed ways to strengthen cooperation between the two organizations, as reported by the Housing Finance Corporation.
