South Korea's LG Energy Solution Ltd. has teamed up with seven imported car dealers in the country to expand the company's electric vehicle (EV) battery management.

LG Energy Solution on Friday said it signed an agreement with the dealers on provision of the EV battery management solution B-Lifecare and development of new services.

The seven are Autoplatz, Meister Motors, Klasse Auto, Ucaro Automobile, Autobahn VAG, Gio Haus and G&B Automobile.

B-Lifecare, LG Energy Solution's leading battery-as-a-service business, provides information such as analysis of individual driving and charging habits and a battery stress management score to help users efficiently manage batteries. The service also supports safe and long-term EV use through battery evaluation and diagnostic services.

The company will install the service on vehicles sold by the seven dealers. It will also raise the efficiency of the battery management system by manufacturing and providing a vehicle's on-board diagnostics (OBD) to check and assess a battery's condition.

The dealers will cooperate by recruiting new subscribers to B-Lifecare from among car buyers and support OBD installation, warehousing and inventory management.

"We agreed with the official imported car dealers to promote new businesses such as aftersales service, charging guides and certified used cars," LG Energy Solution said. "We plan to introduce services to ensure the safety of EV operation and preservation of the residual value of batteries."

Based on this agreement, the company eyes securing solid footing on the EV battery management market, which is expected to see rapid growth. Since they distribute and sell popular imported cars in the country, the seven dealers are also expected to help attract new members and expand services.
