South Korea’s online game developer Nexon Korea Corp. opened its corporations in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) at the end of last year to strengthen its blockchain gaming business in its target market, the Middle East, industry sources said on Sunday.

Nexon established two subsidiaries Nexon Universe Global and Nexpace in the UAE.

Creating these entities is part of Nexon's strategy to expand its projects, including Nexpace and MapleStory N.

Nexpace is the name of a blockchain game project unveiled by Nexon last year, with MapleStory N being the centerpiece.

This game integrates Nexon's popular intellectual property (IP), MapleStory, with Non-Fungible Token (NFT) technology.

Nexon plans to launch MapleStory N in select countries this year, marking a significant step in its strategy to broaden its blockchain gaming portfolio.
