South Korea's Samsung Electro-Mechanics on Monday announced its release of a smartphone camera module with 200 megapixels and double the shake reduction function.

The device is mounted on the Galaxy S23 Ultra, the top smartphone model of Samsung Electronics Co.

"This product integrates core optical technologies to produce sharp and clear picture quality when taking photos or videos," a Samsung Electro-Mechanics source said.

Correction angle refers to the range in which a clear picture can be taken when the degree of shaking during snapping or filming is converted into an angle. In other words, the bigger the angle, the bigger the vibration.

The installation of OIS is expected in drones and self-operating cameras as well as smartphones.

“We plan to expand our electronic camera module unit based on technology accumulated from IT," the source said.
