LG Electronics Inc. is targeting the European market by releasing home appliances that exceed the highest grades of energy efficiency.

The company on Monday said it will roll out next month new high-efficiency home appliances such as washers, dryers, refrigerators and dishwashers at this year's IFA, Europe’s largest trade show for home appliances, in Berlin, Germany. Under the theme "Net Zero House," referring to no greenhouse gas emissions, the items will make their global debut at IFA.

The company's new drum washer is about 40% more efficient than those with the highest energy efficiency grade A. Its microplastic care mode to protect the marine ecosystem reduces up to 60% of microplastics caused by friction of clothes during washing.

LG Electronics' new dryer has a rating of A+++, the highest for its kind on the market, and uses the next-generation eco-friendly refrigerant R290.

The company's new refrigerator is about 20% more efficient than A-grade models and has a noise level of 29 decibels, the lowest among models in the same class.

LG Electronics will also unveil its LG Home Energy Platform to efficiently manage and conserve energy used at home. The company's LG ThinQ app can control its home appliances and check energy storage and consumption.

Last year, Europe announced its Repower EU plan to cut energy consumption and dependence on Russian fossil fuels by 2030 to achieve carbon neutrality while also expanding the use of renewable energy. Thus high-efficiency home appliances are in higher demand on the Continent.

LG Electronics plans to take the lead as a pioneer on the European market for such devices based on its core component technology.
