Samsung Electronics Co. has been rated as the most satisfactory PC brand among US consumers, according to a survey by the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI) released on Sept. 21.

Celebrating its 26th anniversary, ACSI is one of the most authoritative market research firms in the US, annually interviewing around 500,000 consumers to gauge satisfaction levels.

Samsung scored 83 points in the PC category, a 2-point increase from the previous year, tying with Apple.

This marks the first time in 20 years that Apple has relinquished its sole position as the leader in the PC sector.

The rise in Samsung's score is attributed to the successful performance of its tablets. "Samsung’s strong overall performance is boosted by surging customer satisfaction with its tablet offerings (Galaxy Tab). While tablet satisfaction at the aggregate level falls this year, Samsung improves 6% to a score of 85," noted ACSI.

US media outlets also analyzed that Samsung's newly launched Galaxy Tab S9 series last month positively influenced consumer satisfaction, highlighting the series' cutting-edge hardware and focus on optimizing large-screen displays.

Other global PC manufacturers, Dell and HP, followed closely with 81 points each, tying for second place. Lenovo, Asus, Amazon, and Acer scored 78 points.

Samsung Electronics' notebook Galaxy Book 3 Series, released in February this year, is also receiving high acclaim globally. US consumer media Consumer Reports announced in May that the '-Galaxy Book 3 Series was named in four categories for "Best Laptops of 2023."

The Galaxy Book 3 Series achieved 2.5 times the global sales in its first month compared to its predecessor.

Market research firm IDC also revealed that Samsung Electronics has a 52.0% market share in the domestic laptop market for the first quarter of the year, continuing its 28-year streak as the leader in the domestic notebook market.
