SKC, the chemical materials unit of South Korea's second-largest conglomerate, announced on Thursday that it has received the ISO 37001 certification from Korea Management Registrar Inc. (KMR).

This international standard for anti-corruption management systems was established by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) in 2016, and it evaluates an organization's management system in terms of preventing corruption and awards certification to those that meet the standards.

SKC's successful certification demonstrates its commitment to maintaining a strong anti-corruption management system that meets international standards.

To achieve this certification, SKC introduced company-wide corruption risk control measures and prevention systems in the second half of last year. It also established a system for operating an anti-corruption management system. Even before obtaining the certification, the company has been striving to create a fair and transparent corporate culture and administered regular anti-corruption education for its members, including outside directors.

SKC plans to expand its anti-corruption education program to include overseas employees, as well as domestic and foreign partners of investment companies in the future, with the goal of achieving zero violations of anti-corruption by 2025.

“We will continue to attract strong trust from stakeholders with fair and transparent management,” an SKC official said.
