POSCO Flow, a logistics partner of World Vision, agreed on Tuesday to help transport relief and sponsorship goods for the humanitarian organization both at home and abroad.

The deal includes support for storing and moving aid supplies in Turkey’s earthquake-hit areas, as well as covering domestic and overseas land and sea transport costs, distributing goods abroad for free, and appointing partners for World Vision’s logistics projects.

The agreement follows talks since February on how to use POSCO Flow’s logistics infrastructure and World Vision’s global relief network to deliver aid systematically and consistently to Turkey, where a powerful quake killed more than 46,000 people last month.

POSCO Flow plans to expand its logistics support based on the recovery situation in Turkey. It also supported Haitian relief goods last year as part of its “Good Flow” social contribution initiative.

POSCO Flow President Kim Kwang-soo said the deal would set a good example of using corporate expertise for social good. He added that his company was joining South Korea’s efforts to help Turkey, a “brother country” that sent troops during the Korean War and cared for war orphans.

POSCO Flow is a logistics arm of Korea's POSCO Group.
