Hanwha Foodtech, a subsidiary of Hanwha Hotels & Resorts specializing in food and beverages, announced on Wednesday that it opened a research and development (R&D) center in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, the previous day.

The R&D center spans 1,349 square meters and includes laboratories, a simulation room, a photo studio, and a foodtech showroom.

In the research space, various technologies will be integrated with the goal of kitchen automation, including modular systems.

New menu development for existing brands, such as Pasta X, Taoyuen Style, and Pavilion, is also being carried out.

Hanwha Foodtech also revealed that the center will be used to prepare for the launch of a new brand utilizing the robotic technology of Stellar Pizza, an American pizza brand acquired in February.
