Supernal LLC, the US-based urban air mobility (UAM) affiliate of Hyundai Motor Group, announced on Wednesday that it will participate in CES 2024 next month.

The company plans to unveil the teaser images of its new UAM aircraft for the first time at CES and outline the future advanced air mobility (AAM) ecosystem-building strategy.

The AAM strategy is expected to encompass Supernal and Hyundai Motor Group's roles in various aspects of the AAM ecosystem, including aircraft operation and the role of UAM airports like vertiports.

Supernal will also showcase its life-size UAM body at CES 2024. The company and Hyundai Motor Group Global Design Division co-developed the design and style of the UAM body. It plans to commercialize this by 2028.

Supernal handled all engineering and integrated aircraft design, while the internal and external styling was managed by the Hyundai Motor Group Global Design Division under the leadership of Luc Donckerwolke, chief design officer (CDO) of Hyundai Motor Group.

During the exhibition Jan. 9-12 next year, Supernal will have a separate corner outside at the Las Vegas Convention Center that will be reminiscent of Vertiport. It will allow visitors to experience what it's like to use UAM in the real world.

The announcement of the AAM ecosystem strategy and the unveiling of the new UAM aircraft design will take place at the Supernal exhibition space on Jan. 9.
