South Korea's Ministry of SMEs and Startups held on Wednesday the "K-Deep Tech Startup Meetup" event at Startup Alliance & Space in Gangnam district to support the entry and investment attraction of domestic startups into Saudi Arabia. 

At the event, Anwar Al Shammari, Chief Legal Counsel of the Ministry of Investment Saudi Arabia, presented support measures for international startups entering the market, and Kevin Cullen, Vice President for Innovation at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology, introduced an accelerating support program for overseas deep tech startups hoping to enter Saudi Arabia.

About 70 domestic startups in new industries such as bio-health and future mobility participated in the event.

"The Middle East, including Saudi Arabia, should be the first region to consider for our deep tech startups to enter the global market and attract investment," Lee Young, Minister of SMEs and Startups, said. "We will prepare various support policy measures for startup entry and establish close cooperation with governments of various countries,"  she added.
