South Korea’s internet giant Naver Corp. plans to introduce same-hour delivery service by year’s end.

Naver CEO Choi Soo-yeon announced the plan during Monday’s earnings call. “We will introduce a new type of service that allows for delivery within one hour by liaising with a number of supermarkets,” she said.

Last Thursday, the company revealed a Naver Arrival Guarantee solution that guarantees same-day delivery.

“We will strengthen our fast-delivery services in tandem with the Naver Fulfillment Alliance, which includes CJ Logistics,” said Choi. “We will link the service provider with the customer on a platform that assembles a wide range of data.”

Both the company's AI and B2B departments will be restructured and subsequently nestled under the New Cloud department.

“We will aggregate the company’s technological prowess into one area to optimize the entire business chain — from infrastructure to solutions,” the chief executive said.

Choi also vowed to take a proactive approach to business expansion in neighboring Japan by collaborating with Z Holdings Corp. and Softbank Group.
