South Korea's Samsung SDS Co. said on Wednesday that it has achieved the Center of Excellence for Independent Validators in Pharmaceutical Logistics (CEIV Pharma) certification from the International Air Transport Association (IATA).

The CEIV Pharma certification is a global standard that recognizes companies that meet around 280 stringent criteria, including meticulous temperature control, the employment of specialized management personnel, robust quality control systems, and adherence to international regulations throughout the pharmaceutical transportation process.

Pharmaceutical products, unlike conventional cargo, require strict temperature regulation to prevent alteration at room temperature, necessitating advanced refrigerated or cold storage solutions.

December last year, Samsung SDS got the lithium battery air transport certification.

With the CEIV Pharma certification, the company intends to integrate these pharmaceutical air transport procedures and standards into its digital logistics service platform Cello Square.
