Hanwha Precision Machinery, a manufacturing solution affiliate of South Korea's Hanwha Group, participated in the IPC APEX EXPO 2023 held in San Diego, California, from Jan. 24 through 26.

It is the largest surface mount technology (SMT) exhibition in North America, with more than 400 manufacturers around the world presenting equipment and 26,000 visitors.

Surface mounting technology refers to a process technology by which electronic components are attached to a surface of a printed circuit board (PCB).

Hanwha presented its new general-purpose high-speed chip mounter XM520 at the trade show.

The XM520 can quickly and accurately mount 100,000 electronic components (chips) per hour on a circuit board. It has flexible applicability to product types and allows a wide range of line combinations and options.

It also exhibited DECAN S1, a general-purpose mid-speed machine, while promoting its own integrated software T-Solution in response to US customers' demands for intelligence and automation.

"We will develop differentiated products and solutions that meet the trend in the Americas and increase our influence in the North American market," said Seok Myung-kyun, managing director of Hanwha Precision Machinery's Industrial Equipment Division.
