The Korea Investment Corporation (KIC) on Tuesday replaced its infrastructure and real estate investment heads, in a senior management reshuffle following the installation of its new CEO Jin Seoungho in May.

Choi Seo Jin, a CFA charterholder, was named as KIC's infrastructure group head, the sovereign wealth fund said in a statement.

Choi had been based in KIC's New York office between 2016 and 2019 and passed the New York State Bar examination in 2019.

Prior to joining KIC in 2012, she had worked at Macquarie Capital as vice president in its Seoul and Sydney offices, specializing in project finance and M&A transactions in the infrastructure and utilities sector.

Choi earned her Master’s degree in finance from INSEAD in France and graduated from the University of New South Wales in Sydney with Bachelor’s degrees in law and finance.

Cha Hoon, appointed as real estate group head, is succeeding Lee Seungkul who was named as head of the newly-created Future Strategy Group on Tuesday.

Before joining KIC in December 2012, Cha had worked at The Carlyle Group between 2007 and 2012 and Goldman Sachs between 2005 and 2007.

The Future Strategy Group is a combination of the investment strategy group under the Securities Investment Division, formerly known as Investment Strategy Division and the alternative strategy group under the Alternative Investment Division.

Investment Strategy Division was renamed as securities investment division.

Additionally, KIC created the Future Strategy Division which will serve as a control tower for KIC to devise future strategies and build its comprehensive portfolio.

The three divisions -- Securities Investment, Future Strategy and Alternative Investment -- are the only in-house divisions directly reporting to its CIO Park Dae-yang.

KIC in March replaced its private equity and absolute return group heads under the Alternative Investment Division.
