Scalardata, a South Korean start-up running an electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure integration platform "evmodu.kr," announced on Monday that it has attracted investment worth 3 billion won ($2.29 million) from GS Energy Cop., the energy unit of GS Group.

With this investment, the first additional investment in six months since GS Energy invested in June, GS Energy has become the second largest shareholder in the startup.

Scalardata will use the fresh injection of funds to advance charging service infrastructures such as EV charging platform and EV demand response (EVDR) system and expand into new business.

Evmodu.kr is transforming the current charging payment system, which requires multiple member cards for EV charging, into an integrated payment solution called "ModuPay" which will eliminate the inconveniences of multiple card systems.

It provides various services related to EVs such as EV-SaaS, visiting charging service (proxy charging), connected car interworking service only for EVs, and real-time information on charging stations.
