KT said on Friday that it has signed a partnership agreement with Neubility, an outdoor self-driving robot developer, to expand its robot service business.

According to KT, Neubility has core hardware and software technologies for camera-based self-driving robots and has developed delivery robot Neubie and robot-as-a-service platform Nubiego.

The two companies decided to jointly study technology for linking robots with platforms and respond to regulations with the goal of further disseminating robot services in Korea.

KT will be in charge of robot integration platform development, 5G infrastructure provision, and sales, while Neubility taking charge of developing self-driving robots and product development.

"I expect that outdoor robot services will be widely applied to people's daily lives and robots will be a new trend in Korea soon," said Lee Sang-ho, head of KT's AI robot business unit.
