Samsung Electronics to enhance Minute Maid Park digitally

The S.Korean tech giant will create an immersive game day experience for fans with state-of-the-art displays

Samsung Electronics Co. has been selected as an official partner for display solutions at Minute Maid Park, the home stadium of the 2022 Major League Baseball World Series champion Houston Astros.

According to Samsung Electronics on Friday, Minute Maid Park is undergoing a major renovation that includes installing a large number of state-of-the-art displays.

Opened in 2000, Minute Maid Park is a retractable dome stadium capable of accommodating about 41,000 spectators, and Samsung Electronics will supply a large number of displays and software solutions, including the main scoreboard.

In particular, new LED displays in the shape of ribbon strips will be installed in both the infield and outfield seats in time for the new season next year.

The electronic display scoreboard with a total area of 623 square meters (37.61 meters wide and 16.56 meters long) (6,700 square feet) will be newly installed in the back of the stadium across the home plate.

Samsung plans to complete the major renovation work of Minute Maid Park by the end of March next year and unveil the newly renovated stadium in time for the opening of the 2023 season.
