Seegene Inc. said on Friday that its COVID-19 diagnostic product Allplex SARS-CoV-2 Assay received the Product of the Year Award at the BioSpectrum Asia Excellence Awards on Dec 2.

BioSpectrum Asia is a media platform and market research firm that covers the pharmaceutical and biotech industries in the region.

 "We will contribute to the healthy life of mankind by strengthening R&D to enable faster and more accurate diagnosis of infectious diseases and genetic diseases, and widening the range of molecular diagnostics by producing excellent products," said Seegene CEO Chun Jong-Yoon.

"As a global leader in molecular diagnostics, we will continue to monitor and respond to future pandemics," he added.

In addition, Lunit, a Seoul-based medical AI company, received the Startup of the Year award.
