Samsung Electronics Co. is ramping up its marketing efforts for its latest line of high-end TVs, including the 2023 Neo QLED 8K model, with a giant billboard in London’s Piccadilly Circus that went live on Mar. 2.

The billboard features a video of a man and his cat enjoying the crisp picture and sound quality of the Neo QLED 8K TV, which Samsung says is “the best TV” for everyday entertainment. The video aims to appeal to the young generation, who are known for their affinity for emotional and humorous content.

Samsung, the world’s top TV maker by revenue, will release its new TVs worldwide starting in South Korea on Mar. 9. The company has led the global TV market for 17 consecutive years with a 29.7% share in 2022, according to Omdia, a global research and consulting firm that specializes in technology topics, such as semiconductors, telecoms, media and IT.

Samsung says its QLED technology, which uses quantum dots to enhance color and brightness, gives it an edge over its rivals.
