The Korea Tourism Organization announced on Monday its participation in ITB Berlin 2023, the world's largest tourism fair held in Berlin, Germany, from Mar. 7 to 9. The South Korean organization will run a tourism promotion pavilion and engage in inbound tourism promotional activities.

ITB Berlin is an annual event held in March and typically attracts an average of 160,000 visitors. This year marks the first offline event in four years due to the pandemic.

The Korean pavilion, located at the center of the Asia Hall, is designed with motifs of traditional Korean architecture, including hanok, a traditional Korean house, windows and doors, and colored Korean dresses.

The state-run organization has set a sales target of about 2.5 billion won ($1.9 million) for tourism products related to Korea, the highest amount before the COVID-19 pandemic based on consultation figures.

In addition to the Korea Tourism Organization, 24 organizations, including local governments such as Busan, Gwangju, Jeonbuk, Gyeongbuk and Jeonju, as well as travel agencies and airlines, will introduce various themed tour products related to K-culture.
