South Korea’s largest cloud computing service provider LG CNS Co. announced on Tuesday that it will strengthen its strategic partnership with Microsoft and develop new services using ChatGPT.

The two companies agreed on collaboration for the Azure OpenAI Services business on April 6 at Microsoft's headquarters in Redmond, Washington.

Azure OpenAI Services is an AI service provided on Microsoft's cloud platform, Azure. It offers various AI functions such as language comprehension, image analysis, and sentiment analysis by utilizing OpenAI's technology that developed ChatGPT.

Both companies will also work together in generative AI, a field that uses data analysis and machine learning technology to create new forms of results through an algorithm that has been learned from a large amount of data. This includes text-generating AI, drawing AI and voice replication AI, among others.

To accomplish this, LG CNS plans to create a dedicated team of AI service developers, including experts in AI and cloud technology in collaboration with Microsoft. LG CNS will be responsible for developing services such as an artificial intelligent contact center for future customer service centers and knowledge chatbots for delivering specific knowledge and information, while Microsoft will provide consulting and technical support.

LG CNS will seek new AI business opportunities for its customers in various industries such as manufacturing, finance, distribution, e-commerce and gaming. Even after securing customers, it plans to work with them to discover AI application business targets and scenarios.

Shin-gyoon Hyun, the CEO of LG CNS, emphasized that his company will quickly develop new AI services based on Microsoft's innovative cloud infrastructure, data analysis and Azure OpenAI technology, leading the market.
