South Korea's video game developer WeMade Co. on Monday said it is discussing cooperation with Microsoft in areas like WeMade's release of a console game.

Last year, WeMade was the lone Asia-based gaming company that received investment from Microsoft, namely in November. Over the six months since the strategic investment, both sides have held talks on boosting their partnership.

The tentatively named "This Means War," under development by a WeMade subsidiary, is a Warverse game featuring a country-based simulation reflecting real terrain and supports consoles as well as PC and mobile. WeMade is also negotiating to put the game on Microsoft's game platform.

WeMade offers game service in 170 countries using Microsoft's cloud computing platform Azure. Due to the success of "Mir4 Global" launched in August 2021, WeMade's Azure cloud traffic surged from the previous year.

"Mir M Global," which came out earlier this year, is also a hit and has kept Azure's traffic rising worldwide.

Launched on April 27, WeMade's "Night Crows," a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) that also uses Azure, has topped global charts like Google and Apple and its number of servers grows daily. This blockbuster is set for global release in the second half of the year through Wemix Play.
