South Korea's HD Hyundai Construction Equipment Co. (HCE) on Sunday said it recently concluded deals to supply 73 machines including excavators and wheel loaders to Argentina and Saudi Arabia.

Twenty-three items -- six 50-ton excavators, three 300-horsepower wheel loaders, four 150-horsepower motor graders, and 10 articulated dump trucks with a payload of 41 tons -- will be delivered this month to the Argentine province of Salta, the site of salt lake mining and lithium processing.

In the middle of last month, HCE completed the supply of 50 pieces of equipment including 12 40-ton excavators and five large-capacity bucket wheel loaders to Saudi Arabia, which will use them to build the linear smart city The Line in Neom.

HCE plans a marketing offensive for large-scale construction sites using the company's customized equipment with driver-centric design and safety functions such as a smart short-distance warning system. Sales in Central and South America increased 15% in the second quarter year on year while those in the Middle East surged 97%.

“We've been inspired to land large-scale orders with domestic technology in the high potential mining markets of Central and South America and large construction sites in the Middle East,” a source at HD Hyundai Site Solution, an intermediate holding company for HCE, said. “We will target strategic markets by boosting customer-tailored products and services.”
