Toss Pay, the convenient payment service of South Korea's mobile financial platform Toss, said on Monday it has expanded its overseas on-site payment services to 42 countries, including the US, Japan, Australia, the UK, and Singapore.

Since partnering with Alipay Plus in September this year, Toss Pay transactions were initially limited to China and Malaysia. However, Toss Pay users can now make easy payments through the Toss app at Alipay Plus affiliated merchants in 42 countries.

Users can present the barcode or QR code in the Toss app to the store or scan the barcode or QR code provided by the merchant.

The payment amount is then withdrawn in Korean won directly from the Toss Pay-linked account, eliminating the need for separate currency conversion into dollars or euros. The withdrawn payment amount can be checked immediately.

"By the end of this month, Toss Pay's offline payment services will also be available in Thailand, and within this year, in locations such as Macau, Hong Kong, and New Zealand," a Toss Pay source explained.
