South Korea’s Hyundai Mobis, the world’s sixth-largest auto parts supplier, announced on Thursday that it will participate in the 37th International Electric Vehicle Symposium and Exhibition (EVS37) at COEX in Gangnam, Seoul from April 23 to 26.

EVS37 is the world's largest electric vehicle (EV) symposium and exhibition, hosted by the World Electric Vehicle Association (WEVA) and the Electric Vehicle Association of Asia Pacific (EVAAP), and organized by the Korean Society of Automotive Engineers (KSAE).

The event is held annually, rotating among three continents—North America, Europe, and Asia—and this marks the first time it has been held in South Korea since 2015, after a nine-year hiatus.

Hyundai Mobis will present dozens of EV research papers by its researchers, the highest number among participants at EVS37.

Hyundai Mobis will showcase research outcomes, including EV drive systems, batteries, safety components, system platforms, and vehicle infotainment.

Additionally, Hyundai Mobis will unveil the Mobion, a vehicle capable of crab walking sideways, first revealed at CES 2024 in January. This will be its first public unveiling in South Korea.

The Mobion features the e-corner system, which controls each wheel individually, and communication lighting technology that allows interaction with the external environment.

It will also display core electrification technologies such as the integrated electric drive unit EDU 3-in-1, which combines the drive motor, inverter, and reducer, and the battery system (BSA), which incorporates the EV battery pack with cooling and power cut-off devices.
