South Korea's CJ Logistics announced on Thursday that it signed a customs clearance and delivery service contract with Singapore-based Ninja Van to strengthen its cross-border logistics business in Southeast Asia.

Ninja Van, a logistics company established in 2014, provides customs clearance and delivery services in six Southeast Asian countries, including Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, the Philippines, and Thailand. It boasts advanced digital technology such as real-time transportation tracking systems.

Under the contract, South Korean products dispatched from domestic logistics centers and transported to Southeast Asian countries through CJ Logistics' air forwarding will be handled by Ninja Van for customs clearance and delivery services in each destination country.

Demand for South Korean products in Southeast Asia is increasing, ranging from K-pop albums and goods to K-beauty and fashion.

CJ Logistics expects its cooperation with Ninja Van to facilitate the export of Korean products to Southeast Asia, acting as a cross-border expressway.

Through CJ Logistics, one-stop logistics is achieved from South Korea to the final consumers in Southeast Asia, eliminating the need for clients to individually contract domestic customs brokers, carriers, and overseas customs brokers and carriers.

Moreover, as CJ Logistics creates economies of scale based on large shipment volumes in the future, the logistics cost burden on cross-border clients can be reduced compared to conventional international transport.
