The South Korean bank opened offices in Pune and Ahmedabad, and launched financial services for local businesses

South Korea’s Woori Bank announced on Thursday that It has opened additional branches in Pune and Ahmedabad, India.

These are the bank's fourth and fifth local branches, following branches in Chennai, Gurgaon and Mumbai.

The Pune branch in the central Indian state of Maharashtra will focus on providing financing to Korean-owned and local companies for business expansion.

The Ahmedabad branch in the western state of Gujarat will focus on import and export financing services for local SMEs.

Woori Bank provides financial support to a number of companies in India, including Samsung, Hyundai Motor, LG, and POSCO, and plans to actively expand its business to local companies.

“This is an important opportunity for us to establish a strategic presence in the Indian market. We will work closely with local companies,” said Woori Bank official.
