NHN Commerce, South Korea's e-commerce platform, announced on Monday that NHN Accommate, its Chinese subsidiary, has been chosen as a supplier of imported goods for Douyin, which is the Chinese version of TikTok and the country's largest content-sharing platform and online shopping mall.

Douyin combines Internet shopping and entertainment elements by placing products among short-form videos and other content, thus gaining a large user base locally.

Douyin began operating global direct import stores for imported cosmetics, baby and child products, alcoholic beverages, food and other items in March last year. NHN Accommate was selected as the only foreign supplier, alongside four Chinese state-run companies.

NHN Commerce aims to target the Chinese online shopping mall market through a variety of marketing activities, such as hosting live broadcasts of famous Korean influencers in the future.

Lee Yoon-sik, CEO of NHN Commerce, stated that the company will continue its efforts to introduce high-quality Korean products and promote the invigoration of the e-commerce market between the two countries.
