LG Electronics Inc. announced on Monday that it launched its Robot as a Service (RaaS) with CLOi robots starting this month.

Business-to-business (B2B) customers can subscribe to the empathetic intelligence CLOi ServeBot for use in retail stores, hotels, hospitals, restaurants, and other spaces.

Through the robot subscription service, LG Electronics aims to alleviate the initial purchase cost of robots and the burden of professional product management and maintenance for B2B customers.

Every six months during the contract period, a Care Solution Manager will provide professional management and services, including checking the product's condition, inspecting for external damage, and cleaning the exterior.

The LG CLOi ServeBot features six wheels and independent suspension, allowing it to navigate uneven store floors even when carrying liquid-filled dishes.

Its LiDAR sensor and 3D camera enable it to recognize the space and avoid obstacles in complex store environments, while the adjustable shelves can hold up to 40 kg of dishes.

Moreover, LG Electronics will introduce the TuiiBot, a robot for frying dishes developed by an in-house venture, as part of the subscription service.

The TuiiBot is a robot designed for frying dishes, which moves the tray automatically and cooks based on pre-set recipes when the batter-covered ingredients are placed in the machine.

The number of subscription service product types in LG Electronics' core business portfolio has expanded to 22, including household appliances like water purifiers, refrigerators, washing machines, TVs, laptops, and robots.
