South Korea's Hanwha Ocean Co. said on Tuesday that it discussed various aspects of the US Navy ship projects with key figures from the US Senate Committee on Armed Services during their visit to South Korea.

CEO Kwon Hyek-Woong and Lee Yong-wook, vice president of Hanwha Ocean's special ship business division, met with Jack Reed, Chair of the Armed Services Committee, and Philip Goldberg, the US Ambassador to South Korea, the previous day at a US military base in Yongsan, Seoul. They engaged in discussions regarding several issues related to shipbuilding operations.

Hanwha Ocean expressed its commitment to contributing to enhancing the US naval power through participation in maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) projects.

The company requested Chairman Reed's assistance to expedite the approval process required for building ships at Philly Shipyard.
