Renault Korea announced on Tuesday that it has started mass production of the D-segment hybrid sports utility vehicle (SUV) New Renault Grand Koleos.

Renault Korea held a ceremony the previous day at its Busan plant to commemorate the production of the first Grand Koleos unit.

Renault Korea, along with around 200 domestic partners, will begin full-scale production of the Grand Koleos at the Busan plant.

The Grand Koleos is Renault Korea’s first new car in four years since the launch of the XM3 in 2020.

It is 4.78 meters long with a 2.82-meter wheelbase, making it suitable as a family car, and it has secured safety using ultra-high-strength parts.

It is the first domestic Renault model to feature a panoramic screen that extends to the passenger seat. Passengers can use independent screens with Bluetooth earphones.

It will be released with three powertrain options: hybrid, gasoline turbo two-wheel drive (2WD), and gasoline turbo four-wheel drive (4WD), along with a newly introduced top-tier trim, "Esprit Alpine."

The Grand Koleos was unveiled for the first time globally at the 2024 Busan Mobility Show last month and is currently available for pre-order. Customer deliveries will begin this fall.
