Hankook Tire & Technology Co. said on Wednesday that it will supply its tires for Mercedes' high-performance brand AMG's sports car, the GT Coupe. This will mark the first time for Hankook Tire to ship its original equipment tires to Mercedes-AMG.

The Mercedes- AMG GT Coupe is a four-wheel-drive sports car and can deliver up to 585 horsepower.

It has served as the safety car for the world's top racing competition, Formula 1. The car is priced at over $150,000 each, with around 5,700 units sold worldwide last year.

Hankook's "Ventus S1 evo Z" tires will be equipped with the AMG GT Coupe.

According to Hankook Tire, the product has received the "MO1" rating, which AMG assigns to the tires that meet its performace standars for specific models in terms of grips and precise handling.

The tires feature sports car patterns and special compounds tailored to Mercedes-AMG GT Coupe.

Since 2017, Hankook Tire has also been supplying original equipment tires for BMW's high-performance brand M and Audi's RS, one of the carmaker's high-performance brands.
