Samsung Electronics Co., the world’s largest TV maker, will feature Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc.’s new movie trailers through its high-resolution Neo QLED 8K TVs at over 65,000 Samsung sales outlets worldwide.

The South Korean tech giant said on Thursday it has joined hands with the Hollywood film studio to showcase highly anticipated movie trailers via its large-screen QLED TVs in 8K quality – an image resolution with a width of about 8,000 pixels, currently the highest resolution defined by the global TV display standard.

To begin with, Samsung will feature the trailer for the recently released film “Barbie” at major Samsung stores around the world this week.

Samsung will also showcase other upcoming Warner Bros. films, including “Dune: Part Two,” “Wonka,” and “Aquaman 2,” matching their release time, to captivate moviegoers with the large-screen, high-quality QLED 8K TVs.

MARKET LEADERSHIP

Earlier this year, Samsung, on a pilot basis, featured the trailer of “Creed III,” a Warner Bros. film, via the 8K-quality TV at 450 Samsung stores in the US and Europe.

Samsung launched QLED TVs in 2021 to consolidate its TV market leadership.

Samsung’s Neo QLED replaces the hundreds of LED diodes used in traditional panels with thousands of much smaller equivalents – up to 40 times smaller.

The Neo QLED’s advanced image technology delivers brighter white tones and darker black tones, creating a striking visual contrast, according to Samsung.

It said the Neo QLED 8K uses its exclusive image quality control technology, Neo Quantum Matrix Pro, which utilizes artificial intelligence to optimize image quality for each scene, resulting in stunning visuals.

The TV also uses the Neo Quantum Processor 8K technology which utilizes 64 neural networks to upscale original content to 8K resolution, it said.

The Neo QLED 8K TV comes with a powerful 120W 6.4.4 channel sound system that delivers a cinematic audio experience.

“We will also work with other partners to provide our customers with thrilling and enjoyable content through our high-quality TVs,” said Kim Cheol-gi, executive vice president of the visual display business at Samsung.
