JLK Inc., South Korea's stroke diagnosis specialist company, announced on Thursday it implemented two artificial intelligence (AI) stroke diagnostic solutions at the Victoriano Luna Medical Center military hospital in Manila, the Philippines, following its deployment in Uzbekistan.

In May, JLK deployed two AI stroke solutions at the Tashkent Central Military Hospital in Uzbekistan as part of the "AI development for customized medical image reading support in the military medical environment" project, supported by the Korean Ministry of Science and ICT and the National IT Industry Promotion Agency.

Subsequently on Oct. 24, as part of the AI-integrated medical image diagnostic system project, JLK applied the "JBS-04K" AI analysis solution for brain hemorrhage and the "JBS-01K" solution for classifying types of cerebral infarction at the Philippine military hospital.

JBS-01K became the first AI medical device to be eligible for non-insurance coverage in the medical area. It is applied to diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI), which all stroke patients must undergo based on MRI images, providing type analysis results.

"We have been able to apply products that have already been verified in South Korea to overseas locations, further confirming the high stability and reliability of our solutions," CEO of JLK Kim Dongmin said.
