Doosan Robotics, a robot solution subsidiary of South Korea's Doosan Group, announced on Monday the release of its E series collaborative robot, designed specifically for the food and beverage (F&B) industry.

The E series has a 5 kg base load and a 900 mm working radius, enabling it to produce a wide range of food and beverage items, such as coffee, ice cream and fried foods. The robot has secured food hygiene and safety certification from a US hygiene safety agency, thanks to a contamination-resistant coating and sealed gaps between connecting axes.

Compared to existing collaborative robots, the E series offers a reduced product size and a wired design, streamlining the installation process. Doosan Robotics plans to broaden its solution offerings to encompass confectionery, fast food and barbecue cooking through partnerships with future collaborators.

Additionally, the company intends to launch a robot software platform called "Dart Suite" in the first half of this year, enabling easy design and sharing of functions essential for operating collaborative robots.

"The E series was developed to address labor shortages in the food service industry," said Ryu Jung-hoon, CEO of Doosan Robotics. "We will maintain our position as the No. 1 collaborative robot company in Korea by providing the best F&B solution."
